Defeated

I was a child
A poor child
Poor at studies
Poor at making good friends
The unintelligent poor creature
With no understanding of how world works
They were hopeless of me
Said I can never become anything
My parents often sighed seeing my poor ways
I was considered a loser
But,
I was happy
At least not what they believed,
A loser

I am a man
A respectable young man
Brilliant at studies
With ability to make friends from highest class
The intelligent well-to-do creature

They are wordless, spellbound
And so happy
Seeing me thriving
Earning well
From a high-profile job
Seeing me become
What every parents wished their child to be

They believe I have won,
Am a loser-turned-winner

But,
In this world
Ruled by wealth and power only,
And where money is the only God,
And no love,
No understanding of truth,
No respect for mother Nature,
Full of only and only destructive activities of men,
I feel myself
So unworthy of belonging to this universe
A winner-turned-loser

I feel myself
Defeated
So relentlessly defeated
