Perpetual

Essence of Perfection

I like the way you look at me;
I’m captivated by your stare.
And I adore every curly lock
Of your golden-brown hair.

Your eyes resemble sapphires;
Their sparkle freezes time.
And all the happiness I’ll ever need,
Is in the way your hand fits mine.

Sweet Remembrance

I think of you each morning
And dream of you each night.
And when your heart is close to mine,
My entire world seems right.

I see your face in everything;
Your soft lips smile so sweet.
I’ve only one way to tell you this:
You make my soul complete.

Momentary Grace

My heart beats but for a moment;
But for you it beats evermore.
When our two hearts are nearly one,
My soul begins to soar.

It levitates like a hummingbird
In search of something sweet.
Its one desire is truly met
When your soul and mine do meet.

Sad Longing

As lonely hours come and go,
When we are far apart,
I cannot help but think you near,
In mind and in mine heart.

If I could change a single thing
About the world apart,
Countless times I’d wish for this:
To have been with you from the start. . .

Bittersweet

Though I know your heart is alive in mine,
I die every time we part.
I’m helpless to how I feel about you;
Liking you is a bittersweet art.

I never knew my tired eyes
Could hold so many tears,
Until we had to say goodbye:
I realized all my fears.

Assurance

I know you want to tell me
All the things you feel inside,
But every thing you want to say
I see within your eyes.

I could write a million words
To put my feelings into place,
But for every word I’d write
I’d read the same words in your face.

Angelic Compassion

One voice—one presence is all I feel;
All I need is you by my side.
Your feelings—and mine—seem unconditional;
From you I have nothing to hide.

Through tears, and smiles, and tenderness
With no other I’d rather be.
Of all the angels in Heaven and Earth
I’m glad I have you to watch over me.
